We are Canonical

THE HOLY EASTERN ORTHODOX CATHOLIC and APOSTOLIC CHURCH in NORTH AMERICA ® is a true and canonical Orthodox Church.

We are canonical based on the following facts:

A. We were canonically established by the canonical Church (Synod) with the authority and jurisdiction to Charter us in 1927.

B. We follow the canons (Rudder) and view the canons as Sacred and Divine

C. We use only the approved Orthodox published Liturgies

D. We adhere to Holy Scripture

E. We follow the Orthodox Calendar

F. We follow the Orthodox traditions.

Also if you consider Canon 3 of the Second Ecumenical Council, Rome was the first among the Patriarchs prior to the split of 1054 and by virtue of the fact that Rome states we can give communion to Roman Catholics based on our Church History we are in fact recognized and in an informal communion with Rome.

We do not claim to be in communion with the Old World Orthodox Churches due to their failures and violations of the canons, and their past treatment of this canonically established Orthodox Church for North America. While many Orthodox no longer even view the canons as Sacred and Divine, we do. It should also be noted that we notified a former SCOBA President by mail of our lack of interest in SCOBA membership.
